Porcelain factory "Baranovka" opened in 1802 ots. businessman M. Mezer, buying land for him from the magnates Lubomyrsky-Valevsky. The raw material was clay, which was mined nearby. The utensils made at the factory decorated the palaces of nobles and emperors. Having changed several owners, the Barani porcelain factory continued to operate during the Soviet era and until the early 2000s remained the country's leading enterprise in this field. The company is currently closed, but the city has private mini-porcelain factories. The Baranivka factory has had a museum since 1952, which exhibits samples of products that are over a hundred years old.

The Museum of Partisan Glory of Polissya was founded in 1961 in the village of Slovechne, which during the Second World War was the center of the partisan movement and the location of large partisan units. The Slovenian Museum was created by enthusiasts by the "folk" method, and in 1962 the exhibition was opened to visitors. One of the halls is decorated in the form of a guerrilla dugout. Guerrilla weapons, radio equipment, guerrilla press, instruments of the medical service of the "forest front", materials about punitive expeditions in the Ovruch region are presented. In 1995, the Memorial Complex of Burnt Villages was opened, where the tragic events of 1942-43 were recorded.

The Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones was established in 1996 on the basis of a collection of minerals and rocks of the local enterprise "Quartz Gems", which has been conducting industrial quartz production in Khoroshov since the 1930s. The museum collects unique minerals from chamber pegmatites of Volyn, samples of minerals and rocks from Ukraine, CIS countries, Europe, America, Africa. In total - 1.7 thousand exhibits. In particular, unique crystals of quartz, topaz and beryl from the Volyn morion deposit are presented. The exposition is based on the lifetime publications of Olena Pchilka (mother of Lesya Ukrainka), M. Drahomanov (uncle of Lesya Ukrainka), Lesya Ukrainka herself. There is also a music school on site.

The Serhiy Korolyov National Museum of Cosmonautics was opened in 1970 in Zhytomyr, where in 1907 the future founder of the practical development of outer space was born. The memorial part of the museum is located in a small house where the Royal family lived at the beginning of the XX century. The interiors were restored according to his mother's memories. The exposition of the space pavilion, opened in 1991, presents the originals and models of spacecraft, spacesuits and other equipment of astronauts. Among them are a technological sample of the Soyuz spacecraft, a model of the Lunokhod-2, and the original of the Soyuz-27 spacecraft, which has been in space. One of the most valuable exhibits is a capsule with the soil of the Moon, donated by NASA.
The museum actively uses modern museum technologies and innovative methods of working with the audience. In particular, during the children's excursions, a robot-assistant guide Mekkanoid is used, who recognizes voice commands, moves, jokes and even dances. In the museum you can book an interactive tour "Star Aeneas", which uses equipment such as simulators to train professional pilots. With the help of virtual reality glasses, visitors can visit the Moon or Venus.
Zhytomyr Museum of Cosmonautics provides a high level of accessibility. There is a ramp at the entrance, there are no thresholds and stairs in the exposition rooms, adapted excursions and an inclusive toilet are available.

The Museum of Local Lore of Novohrad-Volynskyi was established on the basis of the Museum of Military Glory, which has been operating since 1975. A separate section is devoted to the history of ancient Zviahel in the XIII-XVIII centuries. The museum has a rich collection of written documents and ancient books. The basis of the numismatic collection are Roman coins, money of the Cossack era, royal coins. The ethnographic department presents a collection of towels, embroideries, household items of the Polissya region. In the future, it is planned to move the exposition to the premises of the former prison (XIX century; 52 Voli Street).

The Olevsk Museum of Local Lore opened in 1995. Initially, it had only two halls: military glory and nature. Later, a hall of antiquities was opened, which tells about the ancient crafts and trades of Polishchuks, as well as a hall of history of Olevsk region. In particular, there are archeological finds from the Middle Ages, made during excavations on the territory of Olevsk settlement in the tract Babina Gora: sword guard, lead seal of the King of Prussia, a necklace of glass of different colors and amber, bronze jewelry. The exposition "Republic of Olevsk" on five stands highlights basic information about the activities of the Polissya Sich and Taras Bulba-Borovets. Stands "Jewish Community in Olevsk" and "Local Interest" were developed, a new exhibition "Amber-succinite" was created. The museum offers sightseeing tours of the city of Olevsk and field trips to the "Stone Village".

The Poliska Khata Cultural and Art Center was founded in the village of Gorodsky in 2008. The project is implemented by the Zhytomyr Regional Youth Creative Union of Artists and Art Critics on the initiative of artist Yuri Kamyshny. The cultural complex is a Polissya estate with objects of folk life. Such houses with a large stove, a ceiling held on two beams, small windows and spacious halls are still found in almost every Polissya village. Various cultural events and festivals are held on the basis of Poliska Khata.

The Museum of Flora and Fauna of Radomyshl Region was opened in 1968 on the initiative of the director of the local forestry O. Filipovych. The museum is located in a small arboretum with a decorative pond, rosary, neat lawns and alleys. The first hall of the museum tells about the history of the State Forestry (1936). The first chainsaw "Druzhba", photos, etc. are presented. The other three halls present flora and fauna: stuffed animals of large herbivores (noble deer, elk), scenes from the life of forest roe deer, a family of wild boars, wolves and raccoon dogs. Among birds the golden eagle (wingspan of 2 m) is allocated by the size. The museum houses a collection of minerals, a large collection of butterflies.

The Museum of Local Lore in Radomyshl was founded in 1959. It contains exhibits, documents, photographs that reflect the life and political life of Radomyshl against the background of world events of the XVII-XX centuries. In the first room there are ancient bones, mammoth tusks, skull of a round, antlers of a red deer (in 1963 in Radomyshl the parking of primitive people was investigated, the monument is established). Next are the stands of the Cossack period, Radomyshl of the late XIX and early XX centuries, the Second World War and the events of modern history.

The memorial house-museum of Academician Serhiy Korolyov in Zhytomyr is a part of the Museum of Cosmonautics named after Korolyov, located opposite the main building of the exhibition "Space". The first museum in the apartment, where the future rocket scientist, a leading designer of Soviet space rockets, was born in 1907, opened in 1970. 7 years later, the memorial part was supplemented by a new exposition about the life and career of the general designer. The museum recreates the atmosphere of the apartment in which the Korolyov family lived at the beginning of the XX century. The exposition includes many materials, documents, personal belongings, which were donated to the museum by relatives and colleagues of Korolyov. Photographs, utensils, interior items belonging to the Queen's family, notes and drawings made by the genius designer, his costume and even a strand of hair from the very first haircut - all this can be seen during a tour of the museum.

Yemilchyn BDA of Korosten fortified area is a battalion defense area, a system of long-term fortifications on the outskirts of Yemilchyne township. It was built in 1931-39 as part of the KoUR to cover the rear located southwest of the Novograd-Volynsky fortified area. It consisted of 25 DOTs, including 6 artillery semi-caponiers built in 1938-39, each for 2 76.2 mm guns. On the basis of one of the surviving semi-caponiers, agro-industrial complex №25, a museum and a department of the Yemilchansky National Museum of Local Lore were created. The exposition acquaints with the history of the Second World War, maps-schemes of KoUR and a separate Yemilchyn BDA. Reconstruction of elements of internal equipment has begun, full restoration of armament is planned.

An ancient mansion built in the 19th century on the Castle Square for the head of the Zhytomyr Catholic Diocese is called the Episcopal House in Zhytomyr. Currently, the Zhytomyr Regional Museum of Local Lore is located here, founded in 1865, when Volyn Governor M. Chortkov exhibited his collection of samples of 48 minerals and rocks in the public library. Then the exposition was supplemented by a collection of coins of the leader of the Zhytomyr nobility K. Symonych, materials of the Volyn diocesan ancient repository, nationalized collections of Counts Illinsky-Stetsky and Baron I. de Shoduar. Now the funds number 150 thousand monuments of history and culture, but the exhibition presents only a small part of the historical events of the first half of XX century. The main exhibition space is occupied by the art department of the museum, which presents a unique collection of works of art by Italian, Dutch, French, Polish and Russian masters of the XVI-XX centuries. The historical exposition is planned to be opened in the building of the magistrate.
