The Pokrovsk Historical Museum, founded in 1967, is located on the ground floor of a high-rise building in the center of Pokrovsk. The museum has 14,000 museum items. The world's only museum of composer Sergei Prokofiev was opened in the village of Sontsivka, where he was born in 1891. The exposition is located in the building of the former village school, where the composer's mother, M. Prokofiev, who later took over the school, taught. In the three halls of the museum are presented the personal belongings of the composer, his works, a fragment of the interior of his parents.
