The local history museum in Chernyakhiv was founded in 1967. The exposition tells about the nature and history of the Chernyakhov region.

The Museum of Ancient Tools "Craft Yard" in Zhytomyr is located at the railway station Kroshnya. Every thing in the exhibition is original. The entire collection includes several thousand exhibits, including 115 specimens of axes. The building of a water mill on the river Miki on the southern outskirts of Radomyshl was built in the late nineteenth century (according to other sources in 1904) on the foundations of a paper factory founded in 1606 by Archimandrite Elisha Pletenetsky to provide paper to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra printing house. The factory was destroyed during the Cossack uprisings. The neo-Gothic mill building, built on the ruins, looks like a medieval castle. The building has three wings from 3 to 5 floors, connected by an 8-storey tower in the center. A spiral staircase with 158 steps leads to the bell tower. The mill operated until the 1960s, then was abandoned for a long time. In 2011, on the initiative of the Bogomolets-Sheremetyev family, the historical and cultural complex "Radomysl Castle" was opened in the restored building. In the authentic interiors of the XVII-XIX centuries there is an exposition of the "Museum of the Ukrainian domestic icon" and antiques. 5 thousand icons of the XVII-XXI centuries are presented. from all regions of Ukraine from the private collection of Olga Bogomolets, including works by folk artists, who often gave images of living human traits and emotions. The pearl of the collection is the icon of Nicholas the Wonderworker, carved in stone. Also in the museum you can see unique antique photographs, a collection of antique cards in the Dining Room, a collection of antique irons and household utensils, antique wooden sculptures, antique chandeliers, paintings and furniture. In addition, the process of hand-made paper has been resumed at Radomysl Castle. The paper mill has all the equipment used by monks in the 17th century, as well as a printing press to apply text to finished sheets. Those interested can attend a master class and make a sheet of paper themselves. The castle has a concert hall for 150 seats, a majestic ceremonial hall for celebrations, an ancient refectory with a large castle oven and a 60-liter cauldron on an open fire. There is a landscape park near the castle.

The synagogue in Pavoloch was built in 1772, when there was a large Jewish community in the village. Today, the synagogue building houses the People's Museum of the History of the Village.

The Museum of History of Khoroshiv District was opened in 1988. Currently, the museum's collection includes more than 1.5 thousand exhibits. Including - tools of ancient people (stone hammers, axes, chisels, scrapers, etc.); wooden household items of Polishchuks (loom, spinning wheel, ruble, combs for combing flax, etc.); peaches, samovars; maps, land merchants, bills, paper and metal money; home-woven towels, shirts; military awards during the Second World War and more. Noteworthy is the & quot; Geometric Plan & quot; (1906) on the sale by the landlady Trubetskaya to the peasant Gefka of three tenths of land in the village of Horoshky (old name Khoroshova). Museum of Fine Arts. I. Bukhanchuk presents a unique collection of paintings in the style of socialist realism. It was opened in 1974 on the initiative of art critic and collector I. Bukhanchuk, who taught in the 1960s at the Leningrad Art Institute. The museum building was designed in 1985 under the direction of Professor I. Fomin. Bukhanchuk provided the museum with its own collection of paintings, numbering 600 exhibits. Later, the collection was replenished from state funds, many Soviet artists donated their works to the museum, and soon the collection numbered 3,000 originals. In particular, paintings by folk artists of Ukraine T. Yablonska, M. Glushchenko, M. Maksymenko are presented. The works of the St. Petersburg sculptor N. Nikiforova fascinate with filigree technique. Photography in the halls is prohibited.

Zhytomyr Literary Memorial Museum of V. Korolenko was opened to the 120th anniversary of the outstanding writer and public figure in the house where he spent his childhood and adolescence. Korolenko became famous as an active participant in the populist movement and author of many literary works, the most famous of which are: "The Forest Makes Noise", "Blind Musician", "In Bad Society", "Judgment Day", "Speechless", "Children of the Dungeon". The exposition is located in seven halls on a chronological basis, has 10 thousand exhibits: personal belongings, lifetime publications of Korolenko and contemporary writers, works of graphics, painting, sculpture, applied art.

The Museum of Precious and Decorative Stones was established in 1996 on the basis of a collection of minerals and rocks of the local enterprise "Quartz Gems", which has been conducting industrial quartz production in Khoroshov since the 1930s. The museum collects unique minerals from chamber pegmatites of Volyn, samples of minerals and rocks from Ukraine, CIS countries, Europe, America, Africa. In total - 1.7 thousand exhibits. In particular, unique crystals of quartz, topaz and beryl from the Volyn morion deposit are presented. In 2001, the museum was granted the status of & quot; Scientific object, which is the national heritage of Ukraine & quot ;.

The Serhiy Korolyov National Museum of Cosmonautics was opened in 1970 in Zhytomyr, where in 1907 the future founder of the practical development of outer space was born. The memorial part of the museum is located in a small house where the Royal family lived at the beginning of the XX century. The interiors were restored according to his mother's memories. The exposition of the space pavilion, opened in 1991, presents the originals and models of spacecraft, spacesuits and other equipment of astronauts. Among them are a technological sample of the Soyuz spacecraft, a model of the Lunokhod-2, and the original of the Soyuz-27 spacecraft, which has been in space. One of the most valuable exhibits is a capsule with the soil of the Moon, donated by NASA.

The Poliska Khata Cultural and Art Center was founded in the village of Gorodsky in 2008. The project is implemented by the Zhytomyr Regional Youth Creative Union of Artists and Art Critics on the initiative of artist Yuri Kamyshny. The cultural complex is a Polissya estate with objects of folk life. Such houses with a large stove, a ceiling held on two beams, small windows and spacious halls are still found in almost every Polissya village. Various cultural events and festivals are held on the basis of Poliska Khata.

The Museum of Flora and Fauna of Radomyshl Region was opened in 1968 on the initiative of the director of the local forestry O. Filipovych. The Museum of Local Lore in Radomyshl was founded in 1959. It contains exhibits, documents, photographs that reflect the life and political life of Radomyshl against the background of world events of the XVII-XX centuries. In the first room there are ancient bones, mammoth tusks, skull of a round, antlers of a red deer (in 1963 in Radomyshl the parking of primitive people was investigated, the monument is established). Next are the stands of the Cossack period, Radomyshl of the late XIX and early XX centuries, the Second World War and the events of modern history.

The memorial house-museum of Academician Serhiy Korolyov in Zhytomyr is a part of the Museum of Cosmonautics named after Korolyov, located opposite the main building of the exhibition "Space". The first museum in the apartment, where the future rocket scientist, a leading designer of Soviet space rockets, was born in 1907, opened in 1970. 7 years later, the memorial part was supplemented by a new exposition about the life and career of the general designer. The museum recreates the atmosphere of the apartment in which the Korolyov family lived at the beginning of the XX century. The exposition includes many materials, documents, personal belongings, which were donated to the museum by relatives and colleagues of Korolyov. Photographs, utensils, interior items belonging to the Queen's family, notes and drawings made by the genius designer, his costume and even a strand of hair from the very first haircut - all this can be seen during a tour of the museum.

An ancient mansion built in the 19th century on the Castle Square for the head of the Zhytomyr Catholic Diocese is called the Episcopal House in Zhytomyr. Currently, the Zhytomyr Regional Museum of Local Lore is located here, founded in 1865, when Volyn Governor M. Chortkov exhibited his collection of samples of 48 minerals and rocks in the public library. Then the exposition was supplemented by a collection of coins of the leader of the Zhytomyr nobility K. Symonych, materials of the Volyn diocesan ancient repository, nationalized collections of Counts Illinsky-Stetsky and Baron I. de Shoduar. Now the funds number 150 thousand monuments of history and culture, but the exhibition presents only a small part of the historical events of the first half of XX century. The main exhibition space is occupied by the art department of the museum, which presents a unique collection of works of art by Italian, Dutch, French, Polish and Russian masters of the XVI-XX centuries. The historical exposition is planned to be opened in the building of the magistrate.

Zhytomyr Regional Literary Museum is located in an old two-storey building in the Art Nouveau style, built in the early XX century. The exposition consists of four sections: the French writer O. de Balzac, the Zhytomyr theatrical artist I. Shevchenko, the poet-translator B. Ten and the family of the composer M. Skorulsky.
