Державний музей-заповідник І.Тобілевича (Карпенко-Карого) створено на території садиби, яка належала драматургу в ХІХ-ХХ ст. Садибу названо на честь дружини Тобілевича Надії з роду Тарковських. Засновник українського театру оселився тут у 1887 р. після заслання, перетворивши садибу на творчу оазу посеред української глибинки. Тут проходили репетиції першої української театральної трупи під керівництвом М. Кропивницького, бували багато корифеїв українського театру, а сам Карпенко-Карий написав найкращі свої твори: "Сто тисяч", "Господар" та ін. Зберігся будинок Тобілевичів, флігелі, літній театр, парк зі ставком. Щорічно відбувається театральний фестиваль "Вересневі самоцвіти".
