Veremiivka

The old Cossack village Veremeyevka is located on the left bank of the Dnieper, 60 km southeast of Zolotonosha. Settlement on the lands of the Vishnevetsky princes arose in the 16th century. Veremeyevka was named Ovruch headman M. Vishnevetsky in 1612, probably in honor of his son named Jeremiah (Ukrainian - Veremiy, Yarem), the future Russian voivode. In 1653 the town of Veremeyevka was the centesimal center. In 1711 Hetman Skoropadsky handed over the village to the Chigirin colonel I. Galagan. The last owner was the landowner Nechai. In 2006, the historian V.
