Cities and villages of Zolotonosha district

Zolotonosha district is located in the north-eastern part of Cherkasy region, in the historical and ethnographic region of the Middle Dnipro. The south-western border runs along the Dnipro and Kremenchug reservoirs, and the eastern - along the mouth of the Sula, which is the territory of the Sula Landscape Reserve. Other objects of the nature reserve fund of national importance are the Lipiv Ornithological Reserve and Velyko-Burimsky Park. There are such historical and cultural monuments as the Krasnogorsk Monastery, the Assumption Cathedral in Zolotonosha, the Holy Trinity Church in Helmyazov.

Золотоніський район розташований у північно-східній частині Черкаської області, в історико-етнографічному регіоні Середнього Подніпров'я. Південно-західна межа проходить по Дніпру та Кременчуцькому водосховищу, а східна – по гирлу Сули, що є територією Сулинського ландшафтного заказника. Іншими об'єктами природно-заповідного фонду загальнодержавного значення є Липівський орнітологічний заказник та Велико-Бурімський парк. Тут розташовані такі історико-культурні пам'ятки, як Красногірський монастир, Успенський собор у Золотоноші, Свято-Троїцька церква у Гельмязові.

Адміністративним центром Золотоніського району є місто Золотоноша. Площа території району становить майже 4250 квадратних кілометрів. Чисельність населення району сягає 142 тисяч осіб.
