Yahotyn

The town of Yagotin is a regional center on the Supoy River. Arose in the XI-XII centuries. as a border settlement. The founding date is considered to be 1552. According to legend, the Cossacks kept here in a prison (behind the tyn) a Tatar murza named Yaga, from where the name originated. In Cossack times, Yagotin was the centenary of the Pereyaslavl regiment, the specific possession of the Little Russian hetmans. Since 1757 - in the possession of the last hetman of Ukraine K. Razumovsky, during which the town was actively developing. Razumovsky dammed the river with a dam and built an estate on the shores of the formed lake. The hetman's granddaughter V. Місто Яготин розташоване на південь від Києва в бік Полтави на річці Супій. Виникло в XI-XII ст. як прикордонне поселення. Датою заснування прийнято вважати 1552 рік. За легендою, козаки тримали тут в острозі (за тином) татарського мурзу на ім'я Яга, звідки пішла назва. У козацькі часи Яготин був сотенним містечком переяславського полку, питомим володінням малоросійських гетьманів. З 1757 р. - у володінні останнього гетьмана України К. Розумовського, за якого містечко активно розвивалося. Розумовський запрудив річку греблею та побудував на березі озера, що утворилося, садибу. Внучка гетьмана В. Розумовська-Рєпніна приймала тут Є.
