A village on the border of the Transcarpathian and Lviv regions, near Volovets. In 1887, the longest railway tunnel in the Ukrainian Carpathians, Skotarskoe-Beskyd, 1747 m long, was built here. The highest railway station in Ukraine is also located here - 790 m above sea level. In 1897 I. Franko visited here, founding the Prosvita society in the village.
