The village of Botar is located at the junction of the borders of three states - Ukraine, Romania and Hungary. On the territory of the village, archaeologists have discovered a large metallurgical center of the La Tene culture of the Iron Age (I millennium BC). Botar is now famous for the production of organic products from pork, beef and fruits. There is a museum of lekvar (plum jam) with a tasting room. The original monument to the hairy pig of the Hungarian breed Mangalitsa (2012) has been erected.

The only museum of lekvar (plum jam) in Ukraine was opened in 2012 in the border Transcarpathian village of Botar by a local farmer P. Tizesh. There are many types of Transcarpathian lekvar, as well as various jams from 28 countries. All types of lekvar are made by hand - without preservatives, dyes and flavors. The museum has a tasting room, where, in addition to jam, you can also taste smoked pork from a unique local breed of mangalitsa, organic juices, traditional Hungarian cuisine and more. In front of the museum there is a monument to the mangalitsa pig, as well as a monument to the lekvar.
