The village is among the mountains on the river. Teresva, known from the X century. like Dombo in Vegria. In 1919 it became part of Czechosolovakia and received its current name. The development is associated with the construction of a helicopter plant in 1969. The tourist business is currently represented by a large center for green tourism. On the second Sunday of May, the traditional Carpathian holiday "Seeing Off to the Polonyna" is held, which is celebrated here as "Bull's Day".
