Ratne

The Ratnе is a village in the north-west of Volyn, near the border of Belarus, in the lake edge of Ukraine. Known since the XIII century. as the property of Prince Lubart, the Magdeburg Law received in 1440. The name is associated with the word "rat" (army). The city lay on an important route from Brest to Kiev, and the main source of city income was the "bridge duty" for crossing the river. Pripyat. In the XVII century. the town of Ratne was owned by the Senyavskys, and in the 18th century. - Princes Lubomirsky.
