Berdychiv district is located in the southern part of Zhytomyr region, in the territory of historical Volyn. The rivers Rostavytsia, Guyva and Hnylopyat flow within the district. There are such historical and cultural monuments as the monastery of the Barefoot Carmelites and the church of St. Barbara in Berdychiv, the neo-Gothic church of St. Clare in Gorodkivka, the estate of the Ganskis in Verkhivna, the palaces of Tereshchenko in Chervony and Andrushivka.

Korosten district is located in the northern part of Zhytomyr region, on the territory of Zhytomyr Polissya, on the historical lands of Drevlya. The river Uzh flows within the district. The nature reserve fund of the district includes Polissya and Drevlyansky nature reserves, tracts "Stone Village" and "Stviga", Grandfather Lake. Here are such historical and cultural monuments as the ancient Russian St. Basil's Cathedral in Ovruch, Drevlya Park and the object "Rock" in Korosten, the Miklouho-Maclay Museum in Malyn.
