Museum of outstanding figures of Ukrainian culture, Kyiv

The large museum quarter between Saksaganskoho, Zhylyanska, Pankivska and Lva Tolstoho streets in Kyiv unites museums of several prominent Ukrainian families who lived here at the same time in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: Kosach, Lysenko, Starytsky, Tobilevych. The Pankivshchyna district was then called the Latin Quarter because the Kyiv intelligentsia lived here: professors and students of St. Volodymyr's University, doctors, engineers, and artists.

Великий музейний квартал між вулицями Саксаганського, Жилянською, Паньківською та Льва Толстого у Києві об'єднує музеї кількох видатних українських родин, які жили тут в один період наприкінці ХІХ – на початку ХХ століть: Косачів, Лисенків, Старицьких, Тобілевичів. Район Паньківщини тоді називали Латинським кварталом, бо тут мешкала київська інтелігенція: професори та студенти університету Св. Володимира, лікарі, інженери, діячі мистецтв.

Першим в будинку № 95 оселився видатний композитор, основоположник української класичної музики Микола Лисенко. В помешканні, де він прожив 18 останніх років життя та написав основні свої твори, відтворено інтер'єри передпокою, робочого кабінету, їдальні та вітальні, де і сьогодні можна почути чарівні звуки Лисенкового роялю.
