The Mykhailo Hrushevsky Historical and Memorial Museum in Kyiv was opened in 1992 in a three-story building that the Hrushevsky family purchased in 1908. Prominent Ukrainian historian, politician and public figure, Chairman of the Central Council of the Ukrainian People's Republic Mykhailo Hrushevsky has lived here for many years with his brother Oleksandr, daughter Kateryna and nephew Serhiy Shamray. Many figures of the Ukrainian revolution of 1917-1921 visited Hrushevsky here. The premises of the Hrushevsky House have preserved an authentic atmosphere: interior decoration, stairwell, parquet, window fittings, wooden terraces.
