The village of Desnyanskoye is located on the right bank of the Desna River, 40 km north of Korop, on the territory of the Mezinsky National Natural Park. The village was first mentioned in 1679 as Psarevka. In 1922 it was renamed Sverdlovka. the current name has been since 2016. In Soviet times, the village became famous thanks to the successes of the local millionaire collective farm "Avangar" (hired agricultural firm "Avangard"). Near Desnyanskoe, 3 settlements of the Yukhnovo culture (VI-III centuries BC) were discovered, a settlement of the first centuries AD. era. The visitor center of the Mezinskiy NPP is located here. In the summer there is a ferry service.
