The ancient village of Zhabotin is located between Cherkassy and Kamenka near the historic Kholodny Yar. Founded at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. on the site of the annalistic town of Radivonov destroyed by the Tatars in 1484. In 1633, the crown hetman S. Konetspolsky bought these lands and began to actively populate them. Since 1649 Zhabotin became the centenary of the Chigirinsky regiment. In 1768, the inhabitants took part in the uprising of M. Zaliznyak and captured the Zhabotinsky castle, but the Polish power was soon restored. At this time, Zhabotin belonged to the Lubomirsky magnates, then repeatedly changed owners, which negatively affected economic development. The wooden Assumption Church, built in 1708 and reconstructed in 1851, has survived.
