The village of Zhurzhintsy is located 10 km northeast of Lysyanka. It was first mentioned in 1480 as Dzhurzhintsy, the patrimony of the Baglaev clan. The name is probably associated with the location on a wooded hill with many babbling springs. Remains of Scythian burial mounds and fragments of the Serpent Ramparts, which played the role of local fortifications, have been preserved near the village. The first wooden church was built in 1730. In 1832, in its place, at the expense of the landowner V. Protopopov, a stone church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the classicism style was built, which has survived to this day. During the Holodomor, about 300 residents were killed in Zhurzhintsy (a monument has been erected).
