Moryntsi

The village of Moryntsi is the birthplace of the poet T. Shevchenko. Located 40 km from Korsun-Shevchenkovsky. According to one version, the name is explained by the fact that the first inhabitants were immigrants from the sea, according to another, the inhabitants were engaged in collecting forest honey, for which they killed bees. The Moryntsi are first mentioned in ser. XVII century. among the possessions of the general convoy K. Vygovskiy, brother of hetman I. Vygovskiy. The museum complex is part of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve "Homeland of Taras Shevchenko". In 1956, a monument to T. Shevchenko was erected, in 2006 a monument to the mother of the poet K. Boyko was opened. At the same time, a new chapel was consecrated (the old wooden church was destroyed during the Soviet era). Green tourism is developing in the village.

Вперше Моринці згадуються в середині XVII ст. серед володінь генерального обозного К. Виговського, брата гетьмана І. Виговського. В XVIII ст. село належало княгині Яблоновській, потім поміщикам Енгельгардам. Останньою господинею села була графиня М. Браницька. Тут знаходиться реконструйована садиба родини Шевченків, в якій в 1814 році народився майбутній поет. Музейний комплекс входить до складу Державного історико-культурного заповідника "Батьківщина Тараса Шевченка". В 1956 році встановлено пам'ятник Т. Шевченку, в 2006 ...
