The village of Shevchenkovo on the river. The candle is located 10 km south of the Valley along the highway to Mizhgirya. It has been known since 1469 as the village of Veldizh in the Zhidachevsky district. It is believed that the old name should be deciphered as "great dizhka" (large barrel), since the valley in which the village is located is surrounded on all sides by mountains, like in a barrel. In the XVIII century. here the Gottlieb factory was built, which produced agricultural implements. In the XIX century. on the territory of the village there was a German colony Engelsberg (now the village of Angelovka). The Church of St. Paraskeva was built in 1910.
