The city is 12 km north-west of the border of Kiyv, near the city of Irpin. It has been known since 1630 as the village of Yablunka on the banks of the river. Bucha. It belonged to the Pototskys, then to the gentry Y. Lyasota, the landowner Krasovsky. At the end of the XIX century. became a popular vacation spot for the people of Kiyv; rich townspeople and intellectuals built their summer cottages here. At different times, M. Bulgakov, L. Revutsky, E. Paton and others rested here. The dacha of the councilor of the Kiyv-Kovel railway Shtamm in the form of a knight's castle has been preserved.
