Shpyt'ky

The village of Shpytki is located 20 km west of Kiev, next to the Zhytomyr highway E-40 (M-06). The official date of foundation is considered to be 1735, although the mention of the Shpitkov estate is found even during the Liberation War of B. Khmelnitsky. In the XVIII-XIX centuries. the village has repeatedly changed owners. It was owned by the Zalesskys, Podvysotskys, Stogovs, Dobrynins. At the end. XIX century. the estate was acquired by the sugar breeder A. Tereshchenko, who owned many of the surrounding lands. Tereshchenko built a large estate with a three-story house with 99 rooms, laid out a park around it, installed a power station, erected a church and a school, and laid a highway to the estate.
