Hostomel'

The Hostomel village is located 10 km north-west of Kiyv. Probably, in ancient times it was called Ostromir. As Hostomel was first mentioned in Polish documents of the 15th century. In 1614, the Magdeburg Law was granted by the charter of the Polish king Sigismund III. During the War of Independence, it became the centenary of the Kiev regiment, then the center of the volost. Селище Гостомель розташоване в 10 км на північний захід від Києва. Ймовірно, в давнину мало назву Остромир. Як Гостомель вперше згадується в польських документах XV ст. В 1614 році грамотою польського короля Сигізмунда III надано Магдебурзьке право. Під час Визвольної війни стало сотенним містечком Київського полку, потім центром волості. Окрасою міста залишається Свято-Покровська церква, поряд з якою збереглися вали древнього городища. Тут знаходиться аеродром АНТК ім. Антонова, який має статус міжнародного вантажного аеропорту.
