Vorokhta

The famous low-mountain (850 m above sea level) ski resort above the river. Prut between Yaremche and Verkhovina. Відомий низькогірний (850 м над рівнем моря) гірськолижний курорт над річкою Прут між Яремчею та Верховиною. Ворохта заснована у XVII ст. як присілок Микуличина, розташованого нижче по річці. Великий імпульс розвитку дало спорудження в 1894 р. залізниці Станиславів - Яремча - Ворохта - Рахів, віадуки якої використовуються й досі. У центр зимового спорту Ворохта стала перетворюватися в австрійські часи, коли тут проходили курс їзди на нартах військовослужбовці 9-го корпусу. На початку XX ст. з'явився перший притулок для туристів і ресторан. Зараз тут безліч турбаз, пансіонатів, приватних котеджів.
