Kamenka-Dneprovskaya is a large city on the left bank of the Dnieper (Kakhovskoe Reservoir) 125 km south-west of Zaporozhye, opposite Nikopol. In the V century. BC. - III century. AD a large Scythian settlement existed here. Kamenskoe settlement with an area of 12 sq. km was probably the administrative center of Tsar Scythia, the capital of King Atey. From the side of the steppe, the settlement was protected by a 2700-meter earthen rampart and a ditch (traces were preserved), on the other sides there were steep Dnieper steeps and the Belozersky estuary.
