The village of Naguevichi is located 10 km from Borislav in the direction of Sambor, 20 km from Truskavets. Known since the XI century. as Solnoe, then Bashevo. In the XIII century. there was a fortress and a Basilian monastery. At that time the village was known as Naguevichi - this name remained until 1952, when it was renamed Ivan-Franko in honor of the Ukrainian writer I. Franko, who was born here in 1856.
