Rakovets'

The village of Rakovets is located next to the M-06 "Lviv - Uzhgorod" highway, 15 km south of Lviv. It has been known since 1466, when it was owned by P. Buchatsky. The medieval castle has not survived. In 1623 the village was divided between the Lviv monasteries of Jesuits and Benedictines. Since the time when one of the parts of the village had the Magdeburg Law, a small square Market Square has been preserved. The parish church of St. Valentine was built in 1822-56. The wooden Intercession Church was erected in 1904. In the neighboring village. Novoselytsia tourists and pilgrims are attracted by the holy spring with healing water.
