The urban-type settlement Dymer is located 30 km north of Vyshgorod, on the right bank of the Dnieper (Kievsky Reservoir). It arose during the times of Kievan Rus, but was first mentioned in documents in 1582 (a memorial sign was installed). After the War of Independence, Dymer returned to the rule of Poland and in 1667 became the capital of the Polish registered Cossacks headed by Hetman O. Gogol. In 1703 S. Paliy captured and destroyed the city. Several buildings of the 19th-20th centuries have survived from the time of the Russian Empire.
