Maliutianka

The village of Malyutyanka is located in a picturesque area at the edge of a forest 15 km north of Vasilkov, near Glevakha (highway E-95 (M-05) "Kiev-Odessa"). It has been known since 1565 as Small Glevakhs or Malyutki owned by the Mikhailovsky Golden-Domed Monastery in Kiev. In the XVIII century. as a result of the secularization of church lands, Malyutyanka became a state village. The history of the village is closely connected with the name of the outstanding Ukrainian painter N. Pimonenko. As an 11-year-old boy, he helped his father, an icon painter, to paint the churches in Malyutyanka and Boyarka. From 1888 to 1911, Pimonenko and his family spent every summer in Malyutyanka.
