The village of Hlevakha is located 20 km south-west of Kiyv, on the Kiyv-Odesa highway, next to Vasilkiv. The name of the village comes from the river Hleva. Hlevakha was first mentioned in the 15th century, when the lands of the Kiyv region were part of the Lithuanian principality. It belonged to the landowner S. Grinkovich, then to the Kiyv-Mikhailivsky Monastery. The monks built in the 17th century. water mill. In the Ostav of the Russian Empire, the village was state-owned.
