Tulyntsi

The village of Tulintsy on the r. Shevelukhe is located between Rzhishchevo and Kanev, 35 km from Mironovka. Known since the 17th century. The name is associated with the fact that the first inhabitants "tulilis" (huddled) in dugouts on the slopes of the local ravines. A Scythian burial mound and an ancient Russian settlement have been preserved. In 1622, when Tulins belonged to the Kiev elders, the first Tulin temple is mentioned for the first time, which burned down during the Ruins. In 1779-84. on the site of the old church, a new wooden church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built, which has survived to this day.
