Zaturtsi

The village of Zaturtsy is located on the H-22 highway between Lutsk and Volodymyr-Volynsky. It was first mentioned in the 13th century, when there was an ancient Russian settlement here. In the XIV century. was listed as the property of the gentry B. Zaturetsky, who built a feudal castle on the site (traces of ramparts have survived). Later, the Zaturtsy were owned by the magnate V. Gulevich, in whose family in 1575 was born Galshka (Galina) Gulevichivna (-1642), one of the founders of the Kiev Brotherhood (later - the Kiev-Mohyla Academy). The Church of the Holy Trinity and St. Mary Magdalene was erected in 1642-46. In the XIX century.
