A city in the south-west of Crimea, at the confluence of the river. Black to the Sevastopol Bay, a suburb of Sevastopol. The Byzantine fortress Kalamita was built in the 6th century. and was thoroughly rebuilt by the Theodorites in the 15th century. (ruins have been preserved). However, according to legend, back in the 1st century. Pope Clement, one of the first Roman bishops, successor to the Apostle Peter, was exiled to the local quarries for preaching from Rome. The cave he carved out later became the Church of St. Clement. In the VII-IX centuries. a cave dwelling appeared. Now it houses the St. Clement Monastery. The products of the Inkerman Factory of Vintage Wines (1961) are well known.
