The village of Sartana is a northeastern suburb of Mariupol. Founded in 1780 by Greek colonists resettled from the settlement of the same name in the Crimea. In 1824 the Greek Church of St. George was built, but in the 1930s. it was destroyed by the Bolsheviks. In its place in 2012, a new church of St. George was built. There is a cultural and entertainment center "Vashury Village".
Селище Сартана - північно-східне передмістя Маріуполя. Засноване в 1780 році греками-колоністами, переселеними з однойменного поселення в Криму. В 1824 році була побудована грецька церква Св. The Museum of History and Ethnography of the Greeks of the Azov Sea Region is located in the center of the village of Sartana (a suburb of Mariupol). The museum has a very rich exposition about the culture and life of the Greeks since their resettlement from the Crimea in 1778-80, the establishment of new settlements, the development of local lands, the development of the diaspora. The exposition is located in 6 halls, on two floors. The museum staff also pays a lot of attention to the cuisine of the Greeks of the Azov region, collects recipes and publishes their collections.
