The fishing and resort village of Shirokino is located on the shores of the Azov Sea, 20 km east of Mariupol. Founded in 1791 on a hill with a picturesque view of the coast. According to legend, the poet A. Pushkin rested here on the Shpil Mountain on his way to exile. The monument to the fisherman, which is depicted sitting on a stone and looking into the sea (sculptor N. Yasinenko), can also be considered an attraction. In Shirokino there is a compact resort area with large boarding houses, children's camps and a private sector quarter. Large sandy beaches. The sea is gently sloping, shallow, warming up quickly.
