The resort village of Zaliznyy port, remote from large cities, is located at the base of the Tendrivska Spit on the Black Sea coast. It was founded in 1922 as a fishing settlement. According to one version, the name is due to the fact that there really was a pier with a hundred-meter iron pier. All XX century Zaliznyy port the that began to develop as a recreational area. Now it is a young, thriving resort with a mild climate, wide sandy beaches and a large selection of comfortable housing. The largest in Ukraine Black Sea Biosphere Reserve is adjacent to the western outskirts of Zaliznyy port. There is a hot spring 15 km from the village with three baths.
