In the XVIII century. the estate of the noblemen Poltoratsky was built, in which in 1844-55. lived General A. Ker, the beloved of A. In 1894, a Ukrainian writer, director, playwright, classic of cinematography A. Dovzhenko was born in Sosnitsa, who glorified his native village in the autobiographical story "The Enchanted Desna". In Soviet times, a literary and memorial museum of Dovzhenko was created, a monument was erected. Every year, from 10 to 20 September, the youth film festival "On the waves of the enchanted Desna" is held in Sosnitsa.
