Veprik village on the r. Vepra is located 25 km southeast of Bobrovitsa, next to the H-07 highway. It is believed that in the old days there were many wild boars in the local forests, which is where the name comes from. Veprik was first mentioned in the 15th century. On the territory of Veprik, settlements of the early Slavs of the Chernyakhov culture of the II-VI centuries were discovered. In 1564-1782. the village was part of the Basan Hundreds of the Pereyaslavsky regiment. The building of the old school, built by the zemstvo of the Kozeletsky district under the leadership of the landowner Kochubei, has survived. The estate-museum of the historian P. Tronko was opened in Vepik.
